Far from civilization, on the southernmost shores of Lake Titicaca, an ancient temple was built onto the side of a mountainous block of up-thrust sandstone. Though we might never know the extent of its secrets, when it was made, who created it, and why... we can still explore those lofty places where sacred ceremonies were conducted. Near the top you find carefully made seats carved into the mountainside. And though worn by the passage of ages, these seats are still comfortable to sit in as you gaze across the sacred lake, and toward the east. This is a timeless place where the past and present merge. A place where the Aymara still offer sacrifices of Llama's and sheep to the sun, hoping for favorable growing seasons and protection from evil spirits. If you listen closely you can still hear prayers from ages past carried on the wind blowing across Lake Titicaca, offered from the remote sanctuary of Copa Mayo.
