Day 2: Lima/ Nazca
We leave from our hotel early morning for Nazca and the southern coast of Peru. This is a remarkable journey across vast desert regions and low fertile valleys. It's an amazing contrast that will leave you wondering how or why anyone would live here. Yet life is abundant where there is water.

On our way to Nazca we stop at a small village a few miles east of Pisco. Kathy & I explored the strange holes found near the village of Humay. No one knows why these holes were made or who made them. Yet thousands of precisely aligned holes run from the valley floor to the mountain top. These holes are 1 meter wide and, when debris is removed, 1 meter deep. It's even more amazing when you consider this is not soil, but instead volcanic stone and earth that has never seen rain.

Kathy and I have a new theory why these were made and hope to find a few more pieces of information while we're there. We plan to discuss our theories and show you what we've seen.

Near the top of the mountain where the holes end we've been told are 2 caves. This is one area we hope to gather more information about. You're welcome to check this out if we have time and you're up to the challenge.

At the lower end of the line of holes you can examine two large burial pits. These were dug during the Spanish conquest for those who died due to disease or execution. Skulls and other bones are still visible, seen protruding from the sand and scattered nearby. Grave robbers and treasure hunters have emptied the two pits of valuables.

Once finished, we continue on to Nazca and our hotel.

Day 3: Nazca

Today we travel from our hotel to the nearby the Nazca airfield. Most who come to Nazca fly over the over the Nazca lines. It's a popular tourist thing to do here. We're not typical... Today we fly over the Nazca lines on our way to the remarkable geoglyph's of the Palpa desert. This is the area where Kathy discovered the relationship between one complex figure an its unique mathematical significance. These figures are much older then those at Nazca. In fact, many locations show an almost otherworldly characteristic much different than those at Nazca. Have your camera ready...

Once back on the ground we continue on to the ancient pilgrimage center of Cahuachi. This fantastic city was buried beneath the wandering sands of the Nazca desert until just a few decades ago. Since being discovered, it is still being excavated a few months every year. Excavation is slowed by the intense heat and arid conditions here. Afterwards we continue on to Paredones archaeological Inca center.

Our last stop of the day is to examine the remains of an extraordinary aqueduct system just outside Nazca. Unlike anything seen elsewhere on earth, this subterranean system brings water from the distant mountains to the desert. No one knows how this was made or who made it... I mention that quite a bit don't I! Truth is, there are so many mysteries here buried beneath the sand.

Day 4: Nazca/ Sacaco/ Nazca

After breakfast we travel 100km further south to an area rarely visited by anyone due to remoteness. Today we explore Sacaco, a burial ground of dinosaurs who lived here 700 million years ago.

For those interested, I plan to trek a short distance into the desert to see this remarkable area up close.

Afterwards, we return to our hotel in Nazca..

Day 5: Nazca/ Palpa/ ICA City

Today we continue our expedition, heading northward to Palpa. Turning off the Pan-American highway, we travel several miles to a dirt road.

THE "WEAVE OF SACRAMENTO" SOLAR OBSERVATORY
2 km north of the city of Palpa we take a short detour, arriving to a small village called Sacramento. Upon the desert floor we find swept lines, geoglyph's thought to be a "Solar Clock". The truth is, no one has any idea what concept the builders had in mind when this was constructed thousands of years ago. As you will see, this area has quite an assortment of odd shaped geoglyph's engraved upon the desert floor and mountainsides. Some of these appear to have a purpose, or message to convey.

We continue a short distance further to explore another ancient place forgotten to the rest of the world. You have just entered the sparse hillside remains of a once great temple known as Chichitara. At one time this was a forested area with fruit trees and lush vegetation. Now this is part of a continuous stretch of arid earth. As Kathy & I first explored this area I was astonished at its appearance. This is a mountain that was once wet mud. Now, after thousands of sun baked years it is a solid mountain. At some point long ago a massive temple sat here. Remarkably, the remains are swept across the sides and top of this small mountain.

To end the day we travel to the lost city of Huayuri (wha -YOUR- re). Well, it isn't lost any longer is it! The remarkable circumstances surrounding Huayuri are similar to the lost colony of Roanoke. When excavation began in 1984 it was discovered the city was simply abandoned. Everyday items, stores of food and clothing had been left behind as if the inhabitants had suddenly vanished. It is a great mystery why this happened and what happened to those who lived here. There is no record they were expecting to leave or evidence they had prepared to abandon this large city.

At the end of this day we continue on to ICA City to spend the night.

Day 6:
ICA City/ Ocucaje

Many of you have head of Dr. Javier Cabrerra. He is the man who amassed a huge collection of stones with inscriptions and drawing upon them. These drawings, etched into common river stone depicted such things as complex surgeries, dinosaurs and men fighting and a variety of maps for different parts of the world. No one has ever been able to determine where he found these stone... until now.

During 2007 Kathy & I received information that led us to explore another remote area, this time south of ICA City in a desert region known as Ocucaje.Today we travel with Dr. Cabrerra's son (Roberto Cabrerra) to a place called the sugar mountain. Here, amid towering white outcroppings and sand dunes are the exposed layer of fossil rich stone created 70 million years ago. The petrified remains of whales, ancient sharks and other sea creatures are easily found here. We're going to take our time here. My late friend Dr. Cabrerra once told me this is one of the locations where human and dinosaur remains can be found together. It's also suspected as the area where he found the controversial stones housed in his museum in ICA city. I'll let you in on a great secret before we travel to this place. I have a video clip I think you'll find interesting.

By the late afternoon we have returned to the ICA City. Now for some FUN!!!! I've arranged for dune buggies to take us into the desert for a fun ride until after dark. If it's clear you can see the night sky so brilliantly here. And no matter which way to look, all you see are vast expanses and sand dunes. This is such a blast... you have no idea how huge these dune are!

Day 7:
ICA City/ Paracus

After breakfast we return to ICA City. Our first stop is the museum. I do not typically stop at museums, but there is something here I think you'll find astonishing. There are a set of elongated skulls on display that I have been told are representative of the human race. You see, there are more bones in these skulls than in a normal persons skull... and they're on display as if it were no big deal!

Once we finish with the museum  we cross town to visit the facility of the late Dr. Cabrerra. Yes, this is the famous Cabrerra Museum you have likely heard about. These stones are controversial to say the least. If they are real it means an advanced society existed many thousands of years before our current time. Come inside with me... I'll show you what strange things Kathy & I have found here. You be the judge if these are real or not.

From here our next stop is Paracus, where we stop for the night...

Day 8:
Paracas/ Lima

After breakfast we head to the port. For those interested you might choose to take a boat to visit the Ballestas islands. This is about 2 hours across the Paracas Bay. However, as usual, I have another place in mind I want to show you. I can't tell you about it here. All I can say is that you will not be sorry you came along.

Why can't I tell you about it before we go? No, I'm not trying to be cryptic. You see, there are still many places few know about. Even in this well traveled region few venture off the beaten track. I don't think anyone knows about this place aside from archeologists and a few tomb raiders. I don't want to expose the exact nature or location of the site publicly. Thus the secrecy.

The story is this: During 2005 I discovered something out in the desert that was both exhilarating and breathtaking to have found. Last year I took Kathy to see this site. She, too, was amazed. We decided if we came back with our friends we would share this place with them. If you're there with us (and why shouldn't you be!) we'll show you our fantastic discovery. The image on the left is the only clue I can offer.

From Paracus we return to Lima... and your flight home.
