UPDATE: 1/ 26/ 10
Because of recent reports from Peru about heavy rains and travel problems in the Cusco/ Machu Picchu region, we have contacted our office in Lima for details. We wanted to be certain our scheduled trip to that area would still be possible, and safely done. What we were told is that the issues facing the region should be well over before we arrive. With this in mind, the trip remains on the schedule as planned. If we receive any news to change this decision it will be posted here.
UPDATE: 2/ 01/ 10
Our trip has been postponed due to heavy devastation in the Cusco/ Sacred Valley/ Machu Picchu areas. If you have already bought airline tickets you should contact your travel insurance company at once. This trip will be rescheduled later this year if conditions permit. As of this writing, the infrastructure has been destroyed to a point it might be a year before it is safe to return.
TRIP
INSURANCE
Uncertain events shape our world requiring us to consider
basic questions regarding how we will respond to events. We require
trip insurance as a means to protect your investment, and provide
you with a peace of mind in the event plans, or your needs, change.
It might not be something you will use during your travels. We hope
this is the case. However, should you need it, (and we have at times)
trip insurance is a valuable asset. The cost is low for the protection
received. Whether you purchase trip insurance through Xpeditions or
another source, it is required when joining our excursions.
To find out more, or purchase your trip insurance, please refer to

TRAVEL
If
you intend to join our journey to Peru it is important you begin checking
airfares NOW. Additionally, you must have
a valid passport, good for greater than 6 months, to enter Peru. If
you have not checked your passport lately, or do not have one, it
is time to take care of this detail. DO NOT wait until later. It takes
time to receive a passport and the cost is cheap if you can wait the
6 or so weeks it normally takes. If you wait and then need to get
one quickly it can cost $100 or more.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Read over the packing list (see link above). Start picking up a few
things now. The expense will seem less if you buy your needed clothing
a little at a time. Need help or suggestions? Contact Kathy or me (602 604 0212).
